• Schwestern Berlin

This Women-for-Women project transforms life stories of refugee women into artisan products.

Schwestern Berlin’s goal is the long-term improvement of the quality of life for newly arrived women in Germany. To do this, a safe place for these women to develop and explore their creativity is provided. They transform their stories into physical products for the German market, e.g. simple and ecological handbags embroidered with eastern symbols, which can be taken anywhere, sharing their story. Alongside of professional and psychological care, this project offers these women a place to once again experience and internalize their self-efficacy.

The vision of Schwestern Berlin is to expand the workshop and to develop their own product line/label.   This would make it possible to offer more and more women sustainable employment.
