Enlisting the help of refugee women who are professional dressmakers, this project aims to set up a tailoring workshop that is able to offer quick and efficient serial production on a small scale for new local fashion labels. By combining craftsmanship and design, it is possible to mix valuable and traditional techniques from various cultures with modern design. The refugee dressmakers will be quickly integrated into working life and will learn German and acquire skills in other areas, not least thanks to additional seminars. A training centre for apprentices may potentially be set up in the long-run. Nicole von Alvensleben is a graduate designer and advertising professional who has started her own design business. Claudia Frick is a graduate fashion designer and professional dressmaker who has set up a new fashion label.
